It's been a few. How was your summer?
Here at The Belrose we've had a fulfilling season. Our focus for the last several months has been to bring some fun and exciting things to you for this Fall! One of those things is what I'm here to talk about today.
Open Mic is Back, Baby!
Let's talk about what's new:
Instead of a weekly Thursday night schedule, we're moving to a monthly Tuesday night schedule. Every 3rd Tuesday of the month from 7pm-9pm will be the new format going forward.
This Open Mic will be for SINGERS ONLY! In the past, the stage has been open to all talents in a "variety show" style, but this show will be for the crooners. In future, we may start a separate evening to open things up to other talents, but for now we are taking a professional focus on the singers among us.
We have a new MC and pianist! Andy Dudnick, who has years of experience as a jazz musician has joined us! His skill at the ivories is unmatched, and he will be the MC, announcing each singer and generally running the show. He is such a welcome breath of life and we are thrilled he has agreed to join us.
Early Registration Perks! We want those serious folks to be guaranteed a spot! We've created a form that will be sent via email the week before the show. You can sign up, let the musicians know what tunes you'll want to perform, and will receive preference in the lineup. Don't subscribe to our email? No problem; just go to: http://www.thebelrose.com/ and join the mailing list right there on the front page. You can also update your preferences to receive emails specific to Open Mic (or Ren Faire, Costume Shop, Theatre Shows, etc) once you've joined. Just follow the simple steps in your welcome email to get the info you want from us!
Singers and Supporters are welcome. Open Mic works best in a warm, supportive, "family" environment. We want every singer to feel welcomed and encouraged to continue their practice and shows like this are more fun for everyone if we can cheer each other on. Bring positive vibes only please!
